Service Department Manager

Positions Summary: Responsible for the general day-to-day operations of the Repair Station, and supervision of maintenance technicians. In addition, the Service Department Manager is responsible for safety, proper use and care of tooling and is to assist the Accountable Manager and/or Vice President Aircraft Maintenance as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- To supervise, and give assistance to the maintenance technicians performing maintenance on the aircraft being maintained and repaired by the Repair Station.
- Assure that all employees follow the company’s prescribed safety, quality and security practices in the performance of their duties.
- Monitor all Repair Station equipment and tools, to ensure all items are in good working order, in a safe condition for use.
- Verify that the required technical data is being used for the maintenance accomplished on all aircraft, engines, and appliances. This data includes manufacturer’s maintenance and overhaul manuals, service bulletins, parts specifications, related Federal Aviation Administration approved data, Code of Federal Regulations, Airworthiness Directives, and any other technical data maintained for use by the Repair Station.
- Must be able to communicate and coordinate with the owner/operator of aircraft and/or items, as to the requested work to be performed and the scope and detail of that work.
Other Duties:
Must hold a valid Airframe, Power Plant or A & P Certificates as appropriate.
Customer Service – Manages difficult or emotional customer situations, responds promptly to customer needs, solicits customer feedback to improve service, responds to requests for service and assistance, and meets commitments.
Interpersonal Skills – Focuses on solving conflict through positive collaboration, maintains confidentiality, keeps emotions under control, remains open to others’ ideas and tries new things.
