Position Title: Director of Maintenance
Reports to: General Manager

Position Summary:
The work of a Director of Maintenance consists of all tasks generally recognized as, but not limited to, a mechanic’s work on or about aircraft, its component parts, and related equipment. Director of Maintenance may be required to inspect and test systems, component parts used in their work, and sign for the work performed. They must be capable of performing their work satisfactorily to the company standards and FAA safety standards. All Directors of Maintenance are required to be thoroughly familiar with the requirements of the Repair Station Manual, 14 Code of Federal Regulations, Airworthiness Directives and Advisory Circulars, Manufacturer’s Service Letters and Bulletins, and Engineering Orders. The basic inspection system requires mechanics to initial the work performed by them on the Discrepancy Action Card/ or Report, prior to submitting the item to the inspector for final acceptance. Director or Maintenance may be required to instruct less experienced employees. It is the responsibility of the technician completing the task to seek out the inspector and have the work inspected.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensures that all employees follow the company’s prescribed safety, quality, and security practices in the performance of their duties.
- Performs maintenance and repairs on the aircraft for which he/she is assigned and qualified.
- Conducts preliminary, hidden damage, in progress, and final inspections of articles processed by the Repair Station and record results as outlined in the Repair Station Manual.
- Keeps own work areas clean. Returns all equipment and tools checked out at end of work shift and repositioned in assigned area.
- Reports all inoperative or faulty equipment to the General Manager.
- Ensures that any item repaired, replaced, or maintained that could create leakage of fluids or affect system operation in any way, will have an operational check of such system(s) and an inspection for leakage prior to release for return to service. All leak and operational checks will be annotated in the corrective action block of the Discrepancy Action Card or Discrepancy Action Report.
- Ensuring that all parts removed from aircraft to facilitate other work such as cowlings, access panels, seats, etc., are properly identified and stored in a segregated manner to facilitate proper re-assembly. Ensuring that all Repair Station personnel use appropriate covers, shields, caps and plugs, etc. on items to prevent damage to paint and upholstery, and to prevent entry of foreign matter into items or components.
- Ensures that proper documentation is used when performing maintenance tasks.
- Completes all paperwork for the maintenance he/she performs.
- Ensures that hangar workshops and other areas assigned are maintained in an orderly manner.
- Accomplish tasks as assigned or delegated by the General Manager.
- Will have an adequate tool kit.
Qualifications/ Competencies
Must be trained on the Airframes or Power Plants, either formally or on the job training, as required.
Prefer 10 Years of experience on Gulfstream Aircraft.
Prefer Gulfstream G450/G550 Training.
